In this course, students will learn to create artwork, digitize it, and then apply their artwork to items they’ll be able to use, wear and sell! They’ll design and create seasonal items, and then have the opportunity to sell them at markets we host. They will need an ipad with the apps Procreate ($12.99) and Cruicut Design Space (free) downloaded onto them in order to complete the projects for this class .  I have 4 iPads available for students to borrow for this course, so please reach out to ask about availability if you’re interested in borrowing an iPad for your student to use for this course.

Throughout the course we will cover several projects and methods which vary by class but in the past has included coasters, key chains, mugs, travel cups, tote bags, hats, tshirts, sweatshirts and more. Students will learn methods using vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, sublimation inks and screen printing to create their pieces. At the beginning of each term, we decide as a class what types of items we’d like to create- if students have a strong desire to learn a particular creative method or make particular items, I try to make sure we cover those items so that they can feel empowered to create the things they’d enjoy, even after the course ends.

Students leave this course with a lot of new practical creative skills and many new items that they have crafted themselves. It is great to see their young faces beaming with pride as they take home all the things they’ve made and share them with their families.
