Screen Printing 101

Grades: 6 – 12

In this course, students will learn the process of screen printing, from the design phase through printing. They’ll get hands on experience creating their designs, learning how to prepare artwork for ordering screens, and then ordering screens. They’ll learn about mesh counts and ink types, how to print with 1 vs. multiple colors, and how to use special ink additives like puff, stretch, and glow.

Students will have a chance to print their artwork onto items and learn about the curing process. They’ll leave the course with a new understanding of the art of screen printing, and with lots of items they printed themselves during the course.
